About this coffee :

Sangameshwar Coffee Estates Ltd located in the picturesque Western Ghats of India, these Estates have inherited the best of plantation practices from the 19th-century pioneer British Planters and have over the last 50 years adopted the traditional and progressive practices to make every cup something special.

Currently run by third-generation farmers, the farms spread over 2000 acres are situated at an altitude ranging from 950 to 1650 meters above sea level, providing a salubrious climate ideal for quality Coffee. The coffee is nurtured with organic manure with a focus on sustaining the soil fertility that enriches the growth and quality of Coffee.

Attikan or the ‘ White Hill’ is eternally soaked with mist giving the coffee a unique taste profile. The farm is situated at the highest altitude where coffee is cultivated in South India. Being flanked by a reserve forest, the wilderness helps Attikan maintains its pristine nature with no electricity or mobile connectivity.

During harvest season, three rounds of handpicking the ripe fruits take place. This fruit is then pulped, fermented, washed, and sun-dried either on elevated trays or on the ground, before being cured at Sangameshwar’s own curing works.

The coffee from this region is known for its sweet, bold flavours with spicy overtones such as cinnamon and clove. Perfect for a creamy flat white and black coffee too.
