About this coffee :
Fazenda Pinhal and is owned by Pedro, João, and Milau Gabarra, sixth generation coffee farmers, who have directed the farm to focus heavily on sustainability and the farming of high grade speciality coffee.
They are hugely respected within the specialty coffee industry both for their excellent coffee quality and also their commitment to sustainability, having won the most sustainable farm in Brazil back in 2019, after moving 100% of its energy to renewable sourced with solar panels on the farm and in 2020 became CarbonNeutral®.
Around 35% of their 914 hectare farm is planted for coffee with the remainder being left either as untouched natural reserve or for any of the various reforestation initiatives being carried out by the family. These include a Eucalyptus forest, a 20ha native forest redevelopment and a rehabilitation and release sanctuary for native birds.
Topazio is a coffee varietal, specifically a hybrid developed in Brazil. It is known for its even ripening of cherries, ease of mechanical harvesting, and resistance to diseases, making it suitable for large-scale cultivation. Topazio is a cross between Mundo Novo and Yellow Catuai.
This microlot coffee is smooth & soothing clean coffee. Lovely hazelnut & apricot fruity notes, finish with smooth sweet chocolate notes. A wonderful coffee to start the day.
