About this coffee :

The joint venture between Lisa & Leo, enables CATUR Coffee to have a facility to process not just specialty coffees, but also commercial and experimental coffees as well. Lisa & Leo’s Organic Coffee (L&L Organic) was established in 2010 but conceived long before that. A lifelong dream of having a coffee farm turned into an ambition to start a company and grow a business based on personal values that would guide every aspect of the work, the land and the products produced from the land.

Located in Simalungun, North Sumatra, the organic coffee farm and gardens are complimented by a Macadamia Orchard, a wet mill facility, an Eco Tourism Farm Stay Lodge connected to a Coffee Processing Education Centre and the protected Siamang Forest.

Ripe and red coffee cherries are picked, float the cherries on the water to filter out floaters and quakers, before pulping. The parchments are fermented overnight with Koji yeast, this enhances the cleanliness of the coffee aromatics. The parchments are wet-hulled at around 50% moisture and seed-dried on raised beds outside to 11-12% moisture.

This coffee from Catur Coffee Company tastes nothing like any ordinary Indonesian coffee. Vibrant kiwi & guava juicy note, paired with hints of assam tea finish.
