About this coffee:
The Engagi Natural is grown on the agricultural lands surrounding the designated UNESCO-World Heritage Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, known to be some of the most fertile volcanic soils in the world.
This micro lot is named Engagi, meaning "gorilla" which stems from the local Rukiga language spoken in and around the Bwindi community, near the endangered mountain gorillas conservation area.
The freshly picked coffee cherries are delivered to our producer’s central washing station where diligent processing and drying take place. They are able to process their own coffees as well as buy from the smallholder farmers who grow coffee in small plots alongside their food crops. Their focus is using coffee to positively impact their community while striving to improve quality.
This espresso medium dark roast coffee is packed full of dark chocolate notes and make a bold cuppa. You'll get a straight dark choc note, pair with berries & purple floral lavender like notes. Juicy mouthfeel & fruity aftertaste. Great coffee for latte & cappuccino to start your day.
