About The Hub Coffee Roasters:

About this coffee :

Located within the famous Sidama coffee-producing region of Ethiopia, the Werancha Station works directly with just over a thousand smallholder producers to mill coffee for export.

The owner of the mill, Asefa Dukamo, was introduced to coffee at a young age as his parents were cultivating coffee and other garden crops. In his teens, he began to supply neighbouring coffee washing stations with cherries purchased from nearby relatives and villagers in addition to his own family’s farm. He realized that there were not many washing stations nearby, and he had to travel great distances to deliver his coffee. Thus began the idea to construct his own washing station to reduce the travel time for coffee producers in his region.

There is only one main harvest a year in Ethiopia – this usually takes place in November and December across all of the country’s growing regions. There are 300 producers contributing cherries for this lot. After the harvest, the cherries are transported to the Werancha Processing Station where it is de-pulped and washed before being dispersed on raised beds to dry in the open sun. The coffee remains here for 16 days until the ideal moisture content is reached. The coffee is then hulled and prepared for export.

This is a very juicy & vibrant Ethiopian coffee. Expressive vibrancy of mandarin orange, bergamot & finish with floral aftertaste. The type of light refreshing coffee we like to enjoy after lunch!
