About this coffee :

Finca Monte Verde is located in Herrera, Tolima and is a 15-hectare farm cultivating the unique coffee varieties of Wush Wush, Red or Yellow Bourbon, Geisha or Mocca. It is home to Gilardo Gutierrez and his family, who have over 70 years experience in growing coffee, making the Gutierrez family now fifth generation of coffee producers. Ten years ago, a significant twist happened under the guidance of their three children who are dedicated Q Graders and Q processors, started focusing on their vision and producing exotic varieties supported by their parents.  

After hand picking the cherries, they were placed in water filled barrels and fermented for 60 hours with rotating and replacing the fermentation water regularly. This allows the fermentation of the cherries to be controlled precisely without development of any over-fermented flavours. Once the process was done, the water was drained and the cherries were placed on raised beds under the drying tents they have built on top of their house. The coffee was slow dried over the course of 30 days.  

This natural coffee is not your typical Colombian coffee. Refreshing fruitiness of green apple, pineapple aromatics & sultana raisin sweetness. A wonderful pick for the first morning coffee.
