    About Flint:

    About this coffee :

Behind this delicate lot is the Walida co-operative, headed by our dear friend Muhlisin with whom we've been working for several years. Walida manages, grows and processes the 420ha of coffee growing on Mount Argopuro. It is a fair livelihood concept for both farmers and Walida employees. Farmers set their own prices for cherries, and get paid in cash with each delivery of fresh cherries. Workers' wages are 2x the regional wage.

Walida co-operative is a community of 500 families living below Mount Argopuro. Since 2014, they have been growing and processing specialty coffee. Their mission consists of 2 goals:

Aiming to regenerate the forest area, our dear friend Muhlisin and his dedicated team from Walida co-operative initiated a forest restoration program with amazing results. By planting 120.000 coffee trees, they have successfully established a biodiversity coffee plantation at 1850 meters above sea level. Birds and animals are returning to the regenerated area, demonstrating how bioremediation can address our current biodiversity emergencies.

The coffee grows in symbiosis with the surrounding nature and endemic plants. Team of Walida and their community of farmers have been following organic bio-fertilisation processes. A variety of nutrient packed organic materials are used, which include: Cow manure fertilizer, cascara, leaves from fruit trees and grass mulch to name a few. Returning these essential nutrients and minerals to the soil through this loop exchange system ensures that balanced levels are maintained for optimizing crop health and plant resilience.

This natural processed coffee from Java is rare to come by. Very clean coffee with fruity notes of pomelo, green apple & rambutan. A medium juicy bodied cuppa that makes a lovely morning coffee.
