About this coffee :

Caxambu lies at between 930 and 1,150 metres above sea level in the rolling hills of south Minas Gerais, close to the small town of Três Pontas. This temperate region has average temperatures of between 21°C and 23°C, with an annual rainfall average of 1800mm - ideal conditions for producing coffee.

Carmen Lúcia is a fantastic coffee producer, and the Caxambu Aracaçu team are constantly looking to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in Brazilian coffee production. She and her collaborators exemplify planning and teamwork in sustainable development and specialty coffee production. They consistently receive professional training, stay updated, and embrace the trends of conscious coffee culture.

The experimental field at Caxambu Aracaçu serves the purpose of evaluating each variety's performance in the farm's microclimate. It has successfully contributed to plot renewal, as seen with the Arara variety, which demonstrated exceptional results. These coffee plants are highly productive, resilient, and produce excellent-quality cup profile. Alongside the experimental field, the farm also has a dedicated space called the Coffee Garden, where exotic varieties like Pink Bourbon and Geisha are grown.

“Caxambú” means ‘music box’ in a mix of Afro-Indian language. It is a symbol that brings uncommon musicality to the farm’s coffees. Local legends have it that “The Earth carries us and guards our steps. Heaven feeds our Soul and Heart to enjoy the unique moments of life.”  Carmem Lucia and her family also hold that each bean of coffee takes with it the history of the places and hands it has passed through.

The Caxambu has been a staple for Artisan Roast for the past 10 years, and the coffee has got better & better year after year! You'll fruity floral qualities of white dragonfruit & chamomile, with the lovely sweetness of tualang honey. The perfect coffee to start your day in the morning.
