About this coffee:

Emporium is the new name given by Graciano Cruz after he acquired the farm from his brother Eduardo in 2007. Previously, this farm was known as Dona Berta. After placing among the top 10 coffees in the annual Best of Panama competition in 2004 and 2005, Dona Berta became a world-wide know Panamanian coffee farm.

The name of the farm was inspired by the Emporio creek, which runs in the lower part of the estate and continues all the way down to Palmira. The farm is located between 1600 – 1650 masl at the upper part of Volcancito in Boquete. The climate is usually warmer in comparison to the higher altitude Los Lajones Estate. Average annual temperature of 21°C with 3700 mm of rainfall creates excellent conditions to grow coffee.

The Emporium coffees are fully shade-grown farms. Native trees provide an important dwelling and nesting place for many birds and other animals. Emporium thus became possibly the first farm in Latin America that uses Natural processing for all of its coffee.

In the cup, Emporium microlots consistently show distinct and intense dark chocolate flavors with sweet citrus acidity and clean aftertaste
