About this coffee :
The Dararo cooperative was established in 2019 and represents 25 smallholder producers. The formation of the group enables them to pool together their production and gain access to international markets where they can receive better prices for their coffee.
This coffee was sourced from 410 farmers who cultivate coffee on small plots and deliver their cherries to the Dararo washing station. On arrival, cherries are carefully hand-sorted and floated to separate out less dense beans, then coffee cherries are placed on raised beds where it is hand sorted again and dried over a period of 14 to 21 days. The cherries are also covered during the afternoons to prevent harsh drying in the intense sun.
Coffees from the Yirgacheffe district are world-famous and highly sought after, prized for their florals, lively acidity, and silky mouthfeel. This natural Ethiopian coffee is juicy like fruit juice. Fruity notes of yuzu and figs, finish with macadamia nutty finish. If you like juicy fruity coffee, this is the coffee for you.
