    About Flint:

    About this coffee :

Hambela, loosely translated means ‘to go on’, is a Woreda closely located to the Idido and Kochere Woredas. The small-holder farmers in the area grow completely organic and pesticide free coffee trees due partly to the lack of funds required to purchase chemical products, but also the lack of need for them given the naturally nutrient-rich soil. The trees are left to grow wild and free, with minimal pruning involved. There exists a wander around the specialty coffees of Ethiopia, and with very little manicuring of the trees, we can truly taste the natural effects this land has to offer.

The cherry delivered there grows between 1920 and 2020 meters above sea level. The beans are very dense, with heavy concentrations of the smaller screen sizes (the majority of the coffee screen sizes at 13-14) which reflects slow maturation at higher altitudes.

Natural is made from well-selected, ripe cherry. The cherry is floated upon reception to remove any low-quality cherry. The cherry is then dried on African beds for 14 to 18 days. The cherries are locally hulled into unsorted natural beans and then transported to Addis for final sorting.

This is a superb fruity Ethiopian natural coffee. Beautiful purple grape aromatics sweetness, paired with fruity notes of mixed berries, and finish with milk chocolate aftertaste. A wonderful espresso to start your morning.
