The SH lot represents the heart of our farmer partnerships in the Village of Shai’an in the Ibb region. Sourced from the skilled Shai’an local farmers, these coffees are grown on small, family-owned plots where generations of knowledge guide every step of cultivation. At JabalBon, we work hand in hand with these farmers, paying well above market prices to reward their dedication and ensure long-term sustainability. Once harvested, the cherries are transported to Jabal Bon processing facilities, where they undergo careful, precise processing to highlight their unique character
The Story:
Among the treasures of Pepe Jijon lies Typica Mejorada, a variety born of a clandestine escapade into the Ecuadorian Coffee Research Lab. The legend weaves around stolen genetic material, birthing seeds that carried the promise of a vibrant and complex profile. The name ‘Typica Mejorada’ finds its origins in the resemblance to Typica, yet with an amplified character—a true reflection of its Ethiopian landrace roots.
