    About this coffee:

50% Union San Pedro Decaf / 50% El Paraíso

Ethyl-acetate decaf from Oaxaca’s Union San Pedro meets El Paraíso from Huila in the latest half caff for an easy-drinking, classic cup.

When brewed, we discovered an average caffeine content of 40 mg/dl for this blend. If you’d like to learn how caffeine content is measured, check out James' video on the process here.

    The Story:

Half Caff Version Six is a return to a classically sweet profile, with Decaf EA Union San Pedro from Oaxaca and El Paraíso from Huila! All-day flavours of almond and dried fruits make for the ultimate relaxing brew.

Union San Pedro is our key partner in the Sierra Sur region of Mexico’s Oaxaca state, and this ethyl acetate decaffeinated version was made using the same base we featured in The Filter Blend. Thanks to this year’s bumper harvest, we’ve expanded our collaboration to include a larger community lot alongside our regular microlot purchases. With their cooperative-owned organic fertiliser facilities and focus on agroforestry, they produce remarkably consistent coffees, ideal for decaffeination.

El Paraíso from Huila is a standout choice for a bright, juicy, and easy-drinking filter coffee. This blend reflects a collaborative effort with origin cuppers, enabling us to purchase from small farmers while scaling sustainably. Sourced through exporter Caravela, it combines ten lots from nine producers, primarily in Suaza, Huila. El Paraíso, named for the region’s terroir, delivers notes of brown sugar and cherry.
