The roast date

Fresh isn't a word on our bag. It's a date.

Supermarket coffee shows a best-before date. Ours shows the day it was roasted. Coffee tastes best from about day 7 to day 30 after roasting, and ours reaches you just before that window opens, so the whole window is yours.

Specialty coffee, explained

What is specialty coffee?

Specialty coffee is coffee that scores 80 points or more out of 100 on the Specialty Coffee Association's cupping scale. It comes from a known farm or region, is free of serious defects, and is roasted to show its own flavours rather than hide them. Freshness decides how much of that flavour reaches your cup: beans taste best from about day 7 to day 30 after roasting.

Bean Shipper is a specialty coffee roaster in Kuala Lumpur. We started in 2014 as a curator and shipper of international roasters and have roasted our own coffee since 2024. We roast to order six days a week, print the roast date on every bag and ship within 24 hours of roasting, including Malaysian-grown Liberica from Johor.
