    About this coffee:

50% San Ramon Alto / 50% El Plan

Built on the same concept as our Red Brick Espresso Blend, The Filter Blend is seasonal, versatile and classic Square Mile. Clean, balanced and medium-bodied, a kind, welcoming coffee to wake up to. The Filter Blend offers the perfect all-day, everyday brew and embodies all we love about speciality coffee. An absolute delight, you’ll want to keep a bag in the cupboard to stay stocked up and always have delicious coffee in the house.

    About:

The Filter Blend welcomes San Ramon Alto from Cajamarca’s Huabal district, paired with recurring fave El Plan from Nariño for a memorable high-altitude combination. This iteration brings dried fruit flavours of sultana and raisin to play, all with a smooth and chocolatey foundation.

San Ramon Alto, named after the municipality where the four contributors to this blend grow their coffee, offers everything we love about the Huabal district in Jaén, Cajamarca. Bright yet sweet acidity and a caramelized mouthfeel invoke flavours like candied orange peel on this community-lot stunner. Huabal’s high elevation suits varieties like Bourbon and Caturra better than Catimor, skewing this ‘field blend’ toward familiar specialty flavours of milk chocolate and green apple.

Our third harvest from producer David Gomez presents a more easy-drinking version of the forest fruit profile of his farm, El Plan. Gomez and his son (Yhon David, whose farm El Trapiche you’ll also see in the shop from time to time) share the site where they process and dry their coffee. The high altitude (and thus cold temperature) of their site means his typical washed process requires four days of fermentation after de-pulping!
