02 — Origin

The elephant of Lake Kivu.

Named after the Inzovu Washing Station, this coffee is Rwanda Trading Company's mark for lots sourced from selected smallholder farmers who deliver cherry to the station. The area around Lake Kivu benefits from high elevation, fertile volcanic soils and a temperate climate, so cherries mature slowly and develop the refined, tea-like clarity Rwanda is prized for. Most trees here are Red Bourbon — the country's dominant and best-performing variety.

Processing follows Rwanda's classic fully-washed style: hand-sorted cherry, careful pulping, an extended fermentation, thorough washing and slow drying on raised African beds. RTC is known for its processing discipline, farmer training and careful lot separation — which is what keeps a coffee like this clean, sweet and repeatable season after season. This peaberry lot cups at 84.5, squarely specialty.

06 — FAQ

Good questions.

Everything drinkers ask before their first bag. Still curious? Read the full FAQ →

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?+

Every bag is roasted to order at our Kuala Lumpur roastery and ships within 24 hours of roasting. Domestic orders typically arrive 1–3 business days after dispatch.

When is the coffee at its best?+

Beans need about 5 to 7 days to degas, then hold their peak from 7 to 30 days after the roast date printed on the bag. Keep the bag sealed, somewhere dark and room-temperature — never in the fridge.

Whole bean or ground?+

Whole bean stays fresh longest, so pick that if you have a grinder. If you don't, choose the grind that matches your brewer and we grind it right after roasting.

How does the subscription work?+

Pick your coffee, size and rhythm. Shipping is free on every Malaysian delivery, and you can skip, swap or cancel anytime. FIRSTTASTE takes 15% off your first three shipments.

What if I don't like it?+

Tell us and we'll replace it free, no questions asked. We would rather you found your coffee than kept one you don't love.

Where do you ship?+

Free shipping from RM80 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM150 in East Malaysia. We also ship to Singapore (free from RM200), Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK and most of Europe — rates calculated at checkout.
