— About this coffee

blackberry • earl grey • ripe

Ships within 1 week after roast date
Prodigal's coffee beans are at their peak 2 to 3 weeks after roasting

This special release was earmarked for us by our friends at Crop to Cup coffee importers - they know what we like, and this gem certainly exceeded our expectations. We first released Tagel to our monthly subscribers in June, and now it's available to everyone! We love the ripe blackberry flavors and delicate earl grey florals.

After years working with specialty coffee in Guji, Tagel Alemayehu founded Olkai in 2018, building on deep roots—his father was an early coffee trader and pioneer in Bule Hora. A former race circuit driver known for his humility, Tagel now runs multiple washing stations across Guji, Bule Hora, and Sidama with his wife, who manages exports. His long-standing relationships in these regions are evident in the way communities welcome him and have even sold land to support his work.
