Blackcurrant, blueberries and lavender from Kathima Factory on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. Light roasted, fully washed and built for filter.
A bright, layered cup with real clarity. Blueberries through the middle, a lavender finish that lingers. Roasted light so the fruit stays sharp rather than jammy.
Kathima Factory sits in Manyatta sub-county, Embu County, and runs under the Thambana Farmers Cooperative Society: around 4,500 members, about 2,200 of them delivering cherry to Kathima. Farms are about 250 trees each, planted with SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 between 1,600 and 1,800 metres on red volcanic soil.
The cherries are sorted, pulped, fermented, washed and often soaked in fresh water before drying slowly on raised beds. This is the 2025/2026 crop, graded AB, through Falcon Coffees.
Roasted to order in Kuala Lumpur, and the bag leaves us within 24 hours of roasting.
It reaches you a few days later, just before the day 7 to 30 window when coffee tastes its best. The whole window is yours.
Built for filter. As espresso, run it long and let it cool a little so the blackcurrant comes forward.
Two bags clears the RM80 line, so one-time shipping is free in Peninsular Malaysia from there.
One-time bags in whole bean. Honest advice: a kilo suits a household or two cups a day. One cup a day? Buy a smaller bag more often, so every bag is inside its window.

Your bag is roasted to order and leaves us within 24 hours of roasting. Shipping is RM7 in Peninsular Malaysia (free from RM80), RM10 to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan (free from RM150) and RM15 to Singapore (free from RM200).
The fruit is pulped off and the beans are fermented and washed clean before they dry. Washed coffees taste clean and clear, so the character of the place comes through.
It is bright rather than sour: acidity sits at 8 out of 10, the juicy, fruity kind. If you would rather a softer cup, look for a lower acidity score on our other coffees.
It is the day your coffee was roasted. Coffee tastes its best from about day 7 to day 30 after that date, and your bag arrives a few days in, before the window opens.
Tell us and we'll replace it free, no questions asked.
Whole beans keep their flavour longest, so pick whole bean if you own a grinder. If you don't, choose the grind that matches your brewer and we grind it for you after roasting.
P.S. A supermarket bag keeps getting older on its shelf. This one is roasted for your order and the date is printed on it: RM35 for about 10 cups, from the smallholders around Kathima Factory, replaced free if it isn't right.
