Colombia Juan Jimenez Caturra is a washed single-origin coffee from the El Porvenir farm in Huila, grown by a second-generation producer. Expect fresh lime, Honeycrisp apple, raw sugar and a whisper of star anise. Light roasted and equally happy as filter or espresso, it suits brewers who love clean, juicy cups.

About This Coffee
Juan Jimenez has been growing coffee for more than 40 years. His 16-hectare farm, El Porvenir, sits just south of Huila in a small but flourishing micro-region called Palestina, where altitude and climate create an ideal home for specialty coffee trees.
A second-generation farmer, Juan has built a reputation as a meticulous grower, nurturing a range of distinctive varieties and earning awards within the specialty community for the quality of his lots. This Caturra is a washed micro-lot that captures what we love most about his coffee: crisp apple acidity wrapped around an easy, well-balanced sweetness.

How Much Coffee Is in a Bag?
The 283g bag brews around 19 filter cups, and the 2lb (907g) bag makes roughly 60 cups at 15g per cup. For a clean, washed single origin like this, that is plenty of mornings to dial in the apple-and-lime character and find your favourite ratio.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this better as espresso or filter?
Both work well. As filter it shows off bright lime and crisp apple; as espresso it pulls sweeter and more syrupy with a gentle anise edge. Our recipes above are a reliable starting point for each.
What does Colombia Juan Jimenez taste like?
Fresh lime, Honeycrisp apple and raw sugar, with a hint of star anise on the finish. It is a clean, juicy, balanced washed coffee rather than a bold or heavy one.
How fresh is it?
We roast in Kuala Lumpur and ship within one week of your roast date. These beans are at their best 2 to 3 weeks after roasting, so a few days of rest will reward you.
What grind should I start with?
Use a medium grind for filter and a fine grind for espresso. Adjust from there: finer to boost sweetness if the cup tastes sharp, coarser if it turns bitter.
Do you offer free shipping?
