One family's six hectares in Sidama.
Bekele Belachew farms six hectares under native forest shade in Sagara village, Bensa district, Sidama, at 2,100 metres. The whole family does the work: picking, composting, pruning, then processing and sun-drying the cherries at their home. Like most Sidama smallholders, Bekele makes natural coffee only. The trees are 74158 and 74160, Jimma research-centre selections from the Metu-Bishari forest, chosen for disease resistance and known for citrus and floral character. Falcon prefinanced this group of farmers so nobody had to sell locally for cash; Buriso Amaje led the group and coordinated milling and export with Falcon's team in Addis.

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?+
Every bag is roasted to order at our Kuala Lumpur roastery and ships within 24 hours of roasting. Domestic orders typically arrive 1–3 business days after dispatch.
When is the coffee at its best?+
Beans need about 5 to 7 days to degas, then hold their peak from 7 to 30 days after the roast date printed on the bag. Keep the bag sealed, somewhere dark and room-temperature — never in the fridge.
Whole bean or ground?+
Whole bean stays fresh longest, so pick that if you have a grinder. If you don't, choose the grind that matches your brewer and we grind it right after roasting.

Pick your coffee, size and rhythm. Shipping is free on every Malaysian delivery, and you can skip, swap or cancel anytime. FIRSTTASTE takes 15% off your first three shipments.
What if I don't like it?+
Tell us and we'll replace it free, no questions asked. We would rather you found your coffee than kept one you don't love.
Where do you ship?+
Free shipping from RM80 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM150 in East Malaysia. We also ship to Singapore (free from RM200), Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK and most of Europe — rates calculated at checkout.
