La Lia has been in the Monge family for almost 70 years; brothers Luis and Oscar took over production in 2008 and built a micro mill named after their mother, Lia. The 60 hectares are split into seven plots reaching 2,100 metres. About 60 pickers, many from families who return every harvest, take only ripe cherry and sort it again after picking.

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?+
The date beside the size is when Koppi roast this lot, and the cut-off to join that batch is 22 November. The beans reach us about a week after the roast, and your bag ships in the week that follows the roast date, which puts it with you around the two-to-three-week mark, when these beans drink best. Once it ships from us, Peninsular Malaysia orders arrive within 2 days.
When is the coffee at its best?+
Beans need about 5 to 7 days to degas, then hold their peak from 7 to 30 days after the roast date printed on the bag. Keep the bag sealed, somewhere dark and room-temperature — never in the fridge.
