About this coffee :
Located in the northern Malaysia district of Sik, it is well-known for its hilly terrain and forested area. Our farm is stationed at Kampung Charok Durian, only 15 minutes away from the town of Sik.
This is a honey processed Liberica. After the coffee cherries are harvested, the outer skin is removed, leaving some or all of the sticky, mucilage layer (the “honey”) intact on the beans. The beans with the mucilage still attached, are then dried. Depending on the amount of mucilage left on the bean, the drying process can take longer compared to washed coffee.
This liberica coffee expresses fruity & floral qualities that are sweet & mesmerising. You'll get tropical fruitiness & hints of chocolate note on the first sip, follow with lovely floral note that resemble chrysanthemum.
Kopi Sik Farm cultivates 12 acres of land consisting of coffee trees and tropical fruits— the first ever Liberica tree planted in Sik, with a unique soil condition and nutrient. Due to its high terrain hills of 300-320 masl, the farm differed from other Liberica plantations— making it the first Liberica farm to be planted at high land in the north.
Kopi Sik manages a small scale coffee production from growing and harvesting to processing and roasting.
