Honey, roasted almond, chocolate sweet finish & round body
About this coffee:
My Liberica is the one and only specialty Liberica coffee bean producer in Malaysia. The Liew family takes full control from farm to cup, with their own coffee plantation, processing mill, roastery and an in house cafe that serves specialty Liberica coffee in Johor Bahru.
This honey-processed coffee has a lovely honey sweetness & roasted almond notes. Milk chocolate sweet aftertaste with a round body. We recommend a lower brewing temperature of 85˚C, coarse grind and finish brew well before 2 minutes for the sweetest cup. Best brewed with French Press, Syphon and any full immersion brewer.

Love the taste and the aroma. Super delicious
Packed with a strong punch that serves you right in the morning. It’s a bit too dark for me, but it might be right for others.
Very dark roasted...way bitter than I expected. I thought it was filter beans.
So I use it as espresso beans instead...

Followed the recommended method of 16g to 200g of water. Used filtered then adjusted the grind size and used French Press. Then increased dosage to 18g, 20g... then 2 mins to 4 mins... reduced grind size, repeat the above.... still too weak and just not hitting the sweet spot. Sorry, this bean is not for me... :_(

Every now and then, I take a coffee holiday - to Sumatera, Bali, Ethiopia ..... but in the end, home is the best! MyLiberica are still my favourite coffees. This Honey Almond is my kopi-O-kosong fix. The Classic is for kopi or kopi-C. Mari minum!
I bought whole bean, used a handmill to grind the beans, mocha pot to get coffee.
I've used this bean to get coffee with those tool, I might need some more time to find out to make it more close to my preference, making coffee by using what I have.
I bought this Honey Almond and also Jackfruit from My Liberica. It was frankly very interesting to see the differences between them. Dark roasted honey almond, medium roasted jackfruit. Having them in my hand at the same time, I luckily could enjoy both beans' unique features more.
Honey Almond goes very well with milk I found. I had it with oat milk, fat milk, soy milk. well harmonised with those milk.
I am looking forward to try it with french press/ other tools to see how different it will taste.
It was my first time to buy malaysian local beans, I am satisfied with the experience. would love to try more options.
Not my cup of tea.. (coffee). Very strong pungent smell. Also looks like very oily beans (should have known since it was dark roast.. regret putting it into my Specialita, should have used my hand grinder)
Followed the recommended recipe and it tastes great. Be careful with the first brew as you might over extract, coarser grind did the trick. But subsequent brewing definitely liked the taste more and more. Very fragrant aroma, nutty taste, if you like your Malaysian “kaw” taste this is great. More importantly support home grown beans!

Nicely roasted with strong aroma and taste. Awesome to experience freshly roasted beans from Malaysia.

It's my first try to order coffee bean from My Liberica. Love it.
Brewed as suggested - coarse grind, water that is not boiling hot and 2 minutes - and got an excellent cup of kopi-o-kosong! All the flavour but none of the extreme bitterness of our regular local coffee.
Next I'm going to try with evaporated milk ie kopi-C-kosong :-)
Just not my type of taste. Will purchase again with bean shipper to try other type bean.

The aroma is so nice, is very addictive!
Didn't taste much of the honey but it has a nice chinese almond tea and chocolate taste. For me it smells more of a floral citrus almost like orange juice concentrate. Wished the roasting date was written on the packaging.
