02 — Origin

Bagan's honey-sweet Liberica.

This single-origin Liberica comes from Bagan, a coastal locality in the district of Batu Pahat — a few degrees above the equator, on clay soil with a peat topsoil, at an elevation of under 15 metres. House of Kendal has been reviving Liberica farms in the area that were largely abandoned for Oil Palm in the 1980s, growing the beans pesticide- and herbicide-free.

For this lot, the cherry skin is removed right after picking and the beans — still coated in their sticky parchment — are sun-dried slowly under a greenhouse for 2–3 weeks. That honey process is what gives the cup its soothing sweetness and layered structure: honey up front, nectarine and peach through the middle, and a lingering walnut finish.

06 — FAQ

Good questions.

Everything drinkers ask before their first bag. Still curious? Read the full FAQ →

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?+

Every bag is roasted to order at our Kuala Lumpur roastery and ships within 24 hours of roasting. Domestic orders typically arrive 1–3 business days after dispatch.

When is the coffee at its best?+

Beans need about 5 to 7 days to degas, then hold their peak from 7 to 30 days after the roast date printed on the bag. Keep the bag sealed, somewhere dark and room-temperature — never in the fridge.

Whole bean or ground?+

Whole bean stays fresh longest, so pick that if you have a grinder. If you don't, choose the grind that matches your brewer and we grind it right after roasting.

How does the subscription work?+

Pick your coffee, size and rhythm. Shipping is free on every Malaysian delivery, and you can skip, swap or cancel anytime. FIRSTTASTE takes 15% off your first three shipments.

What if I don't like it?+

Tell us and we'll replace it free, no questions asked. We would rather you found your coffee than kept one you don't love.

Where do you ship?+

Free shipping from RM80 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM150 in East Malaysia. We also ship to Singapore (free from RM200), Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK and most of Europe — rates calculated at checkout.
